About Exhibit

Make Software: Change the World! is a $7 million, 6,000-square-foot exhibit, designed by firm Van Sickle & Rolleri, that explores the history, impact, and technology of software through seven game-changing applications. The exhibit opened at the Computer History Museum on January 28, 2017.

Fly through World of Warcraft’s fantastic world of Azeroth, learn Photoshop from the pros, and speed-text your way to victory in the Computer History Museum’s newest, interactive exhibit, Make Software: Change the World! This uniquely designed space follows the stories of seven transformative software applications—Photoshop, MP3, MRI, Car Crash, Wikipedia, Texting, and World of Warcraft. The Stata Family Foundation Software Lab anchors the exhibit and encourages visitors to learn programming basics through a series of interactive activities. Discover the history and impact, and imagine what you can do with software!
